Why do I write

I write because I enjoy writing and I believe I have some valuable experiences, thoughts, and observations related to teaching to share with other teachers. Mostly I'm trying to inspire and encourage my colleagues because I believe that teaching is the most important profession in the world and sometimes it's a real drag. Plus, teachers, for all their hard work and genuine concern for children, get dumped on too much. We need to look to each other for support. My essays, if poorly written, are a matter of my opinion only, there is no research involved beyond my own experience. Each post ends with words and thoughts of encouragement for teachers to stay positive and keep fighting the good fight. What we do matters.
